It's tough to see that when all the SDEs out there are competing with me for houses. I got outbid so many times that I had to move far outside of Seattle.
Same story in SV. Sunnyvale is now at Mountain View prices from a year ago and Mountain View is now broaching on Palo Alto prices. Not only that.. even if you are qualified, you have these Chinese buyers with suitcases of cash. 1% income does not mean your living like 1% wealth.
Honestly, Chinese investment in the SV market may save our asses when that market crumbles. Win some - lose some, I suppose.
1% in SFbay would be 2x this probably
Yeah. I'm in the 1% for my age, but I own the shittiest house for three blocks. There's no way I'm 1% in the Bay.
This. Age is such an odd choice. Interesting for this forum, but Warren Buffet, Kochs skew the data for the geezers.
25 years old and this year I'm making 125k after several large bonuses for project that just ended... but only 85k +10-20k after (hopefully I can negotiate another raise as it'll be no fun moving backwards lol)
what was your title?
must be nice lol.
I'm on track for 116k by 25. I'm currently 60k+ for 24, after 1.5 years (and I don't make 6 figures). Why isn't there one for 24?
Jk I misread this and thought it said savings
How'd you save so much in 1.5 years?
84k + bonus not bad for a non swe. though trying to move toward data science
For a person like me in Midwest, sustaining this level of growth is tough.. Not sure if those stats just averaged all states, or considered a region level adjustment.
There's no 23
Hitting mid 100s in your 20s is much easier than hitting $500k in your 40s though. A good portion of MBAs, attorneys, and engineers can do the former while that the latter is much more selective.
I'm currently 25 not an engineer at all I'm a dual major in finance and economics and I'm at 84k + bonus. I feel like my cap is quickly going to hit 100k very soon unless I learn a very valuable skill ( working on coding python right now )
why is it more selective in the 40s? It's the same percentage.
We are the 1% !!!
Not yet, i need to get to billionaire status first
Billionaire is more like 0.001%
