In some interviews I have been talking about what in doing as i type/write but in others the interviewer doesnt say anything and I feel like he doesnt care so i dont say anything. i always talk through my approach and complexities at the beginning but sometimes i just type on the keyboard in silence for 15-30 minutes if the interviewer doesnt ask me questions/about what im doing. still got the hire rating for the ones i didnt talk while coding though so not sure if it just varies by interviewer..
- Amazon krackjaxThis is a sign of how shitty tech interviews have become. It’s a bad interview practice to just have the interviewee code up and submit their solution. It’s like a monitored exam, only you’re doing it alone. No clarifying questions to be asked and no problem solving thought process to be revealed. What a way to hire code monk...amm I mean, “great” problem solvers!
