Since USCIS has suspended premium processing of H1B transfers ( and more ) till February 2019 is there any sense in interviewing right now?
Why not?
Because if you join on receipt and your transfer gets denied then you’re immediately out of status and will be deported pretty much!
Because approvals will take 5-6 months and no employer in there right minds would be willing to wait that long for an employee to join
Not worth the risk unless you are open to leaving the US
Yes I definitely don’t think it’s worth joining the new job on receipt… So clearly waiting out this suspension is the only solution?
All H1B holders are truly fucked. This pretty much make sure that no one on a visa can switch companies for next six months
Yup totally agree
There is risk, but we need to choose either rot in same job or move. I’m in similar situation ,but if I find a great opportunity with a stable company I will consider moving on receipt
If employer is willing to wait for the approval to go through then why not? Yes not all employers are willing to wait but there are some that do. But definetly this puts h1bs in the back foot
Large number of big employers will be rolling to wait

You could still move jobs with risk that your h1b may not be approved after you started the new job
I moved when premium processing was suspended last year
But isn’t that way too risky under current administration?
