As techies, is this is reasonable?

I am thinking about a business product that will start letting viewers and listeners charge news channel, movies, podcast, concerts organizers, etc for every seconds, minute, and hours they spend consuming the contents that tend to waste most people time?

gaming, too: for every minute I spend playing FIFA, EA sport should pay me some certain amount of money?

E.g, if Bob watches house of cards for 30 minutes, he should be paid for trading his time to consume the show. At least $10.

This is like asking a car company to pay you to drive their cars. It makes absolutely no sense.

There are different ways to look at it. This CEO’s are millionaires and billionaires while most consumers get poorer.

  • Right now, people pay to watch content (either by viewing ads or directly), so how would this be viable?

I don't know. That's why I am asking. I can't imagine all these people becoming billionaires off wasting peoples time.

Companies don't make money off people consuming content. They make money off them buying it or watching ads. If content is bought, this plan makes no sense whatsoever. If content is ad-supported, why not just pay people to watch ads?

Probably because the value of each ad goes down the more they watch, and only poor people would do it and they don't have any money to spend.

  • Only reasonable thing would be sharing ad revenue between content creators and consumers. But there can be numerous loop holes such as buying 10 devices and streaming on all 10 devices but no one is watching the content.

I agree with you. Sharing revenue between content creators and consumers is more reasonable to go about it. But one needs to tighten every loopholes.

If you were a marketer, would you pay for it? No? Neither would anyone else.

Unless you are an influencer capable of producing sales via content consuming it makes no sense. You watching a video and not clicking ads and buying stuff has no benefit to the content creator.

Lol. I just feel CEO's or celebrity shouldn't take the profits alone, it should pass down to the consumers.

I’ll pay you. Actually was looking for such thing. Only catch you need to donate 95% to charity.

Lol. While some people become billionaire, some people are becoming poorer; The consumers.

I'd be down for this as a consumer. Good luck getting buy in from content providers though.
