Asking for SDE 2 return offer through internship - Amazon
Edit: asking for a friend since he doesn't have an account setup and has a call with his manager in 1 hr Hi Guys, I already have an offer from Amazon for SDE 1 that I got through my internship conversion. I have an experience of around 3.5 years and want to ask my manager for SDE 2. Any idea how should I approach him?
prolly coulda got sde2 by applying with that yoe before going back to school. any competing offers?
They'll probably put you through an SDE2 loop, because during your internship they evaluated you as an intern level (college grad), not as SDE2 level.
I have seen people get this. If I were the hiring manager I'd put the candidate through an sde 2 loop before hiring. However, some hiring managers seem to be okay with just a design round or two for formality. Basically L4 to L5 has been made a joke by the dumpster fire that's the promo process for sde 2. So I wouldn't be surprised if the HM greenlights this.
Hey, an intern stuck in the same situation here. Would you recommend asking the manager during the final evaluation process itself once he/she confirms their decision, or follow up later?
