Asking for pay raise if taking mat leave in 8mo
I started a new job earlier this year, then a month into the role, my responsibilities shifted where im now taking on more than what i initially signed on for. Essentially, my then hiring mgr changed teams so I’m now also assuming their responsibilities. I feel justified to argue for a salary change given this new unofficial role, but I just found out that I’ll be expecting, which means I’ll most likely have to disclose it to my team in 2 months when I start to show.
Given that scenario, I dont know how I feel to ask for the salary change and then taking mat leave in 8mo. It will also be hard for me to ask for this salary change after returning from mat leave as well.
I want to be considerate to the team and company, but also conscious of my market value and worth as well. Thoughts/advice?
