Role sounds interesting and like a good fit, but probably a bit too junior for me. I am definitely not above taking a junior role if the comp is near my target. Any Okta folks out there who might be able to tell me what this role (which is remote) would roughly pay bare min, or ideally if 110k is a reasonable request? Just talking salary here. - TC 105k almost all salary - located in Phoenix, AZ - 8y big tech corp exp, only about 2y in modern (saas/cloud) IT - BS/MS in Engineering (Not CS/CE/EE)
I work at Okta and it has very strict bands of salaries for each level. Having said that I've seen people come in at higher levels for a role just because of their salary
any insight on that particular very strict band? and/or what band would be more commensurate with my experience?
Associate is too Junior for that kind of experience.

hmm interesting. I knew someone who left Okta as a TC awhile back, for Accenture or some nonsense. I never grilled him why he left such a good company for such a mediocre one. perhaps that was why.
I just saw a remote SRE role pop up which looks like maybe a better fit...are their work-lives as hellish as yours?

Comp is the only thing that matters. If I was paid 1M to be the junior most in my company, I'd take it. More money, less responsibility. Isn't that what the passive income dream is about?
