Are there any benefits staying put in the US provided you were hired by a 100% remote international company based in the US? P.S am white
1. Isn’t Europe more expensive and also have higher tax? 2. Spouse/Family 3. Bigger houses (if you care) 4. More job opportunities (if you need to change) 5. Living in rural US
At this point, all of Europe except Switzerland is cheaper than SF/NYC
FATCA
This is good to know. Does this mean I’d get taxed twice? Once by US and then again locally ?
No. You get taxed locally and if the taxes are lower than what you would have paid in the US, you'd pay the difference. But in Europe taxes are normally higher so no additional tax would be paid in the US.
Europe is better

In Netherlands we get almost free medical care and free education. If you are sick you get the same pay for the first sick year as when you are working and 80% of your salary for the second sick year. After that your pension company starts to pay you. It’s also impossible to get fired in Netherlands. I don’t need to worry about the at will employment and being fired at any time like I was working in US.
What’s the TC like?
Enough for a decent life. House price is low so in most places you can buy a house without down pay. Monthly loan is just about 1/5 of you monthly after tax base.
Fuck that, move to asia
US laundry machines are larger and also not in the kitchen. Case closed.
UK isn’t the only country in Europe
No way!
US = mainstream it’s where things are happening
Most of the Europeans I know still think being educated or working here is cool. Why loose that coolness?
you will have to pay european taxes. plus you will end up working late at night. remote does not mean any hours you want.
Timezones, cost if living, freedom. A lot of companies have remote for us only.
Freedom, really? Get your head out of your ass and realize that there are other countries out there that enjoy a lot of freedoms besides the US
Lmao you can literately get arrested for social media or having muscles too big in Europe.
