At what TC you'll stop running in the rat race?

I've been running in this rat race for 5 years to climb up the levels and increase the TC. I want to stop running and start living a comfortable life at some point. If I don't put a limit, the eager and greed for more money won't stop and will kill me, so I planned to stop at 500k. It's not just about the TC, it's also about fulfilling that need of my soul to work at a top tier company, get promoted fast, etc. (Proving to myself that I can). TC: 380k (senior swe) How about you?

I want to give you an honest answer which is that eventually I would like to work up to the point where I can start a business or startup and have it take off and make more money than what's imaginable. This will take years of course as well as a lot of persistence and failures but I feel like TC is capped at a certain point when you work in the industry. But I have like 1 YOE so what do I know lol.

400k and now I’m good

It’s about net worth that keeps you in the rat race right? Not TC. High TC is super helpful to get a high NW though.

Apple khvcxza OP Nov 11, 2019

No actually, for me it's the TC. I can get to the target net worth faster with higher TC, but I don't have a target for net worth. Also as I said it's not just about the money for me.

Bloomberg OctFSD Nov 12, 2019

That makes no sense, you can't retire off a high TC.. You retire/slow down/take a step back or whatever when you have a certain NW number

https://youtu.be/8VsZr5KGNGM More seriously, probably 300 floor on W2, work and a team that i look forward to seeing weekly. After that I'll only jump for increases or perks at 25% more

Y’all demotivating me to work now. The question must be at what net worth... TC is just subjective to age, col, career experience

300 to 400
