Atlanta

When are we going to get a thread dedicated to Atlanta Tech? Tired of seeing Amazon, Microsoft even San Francisco on my thread.

Ewww, I hope you both don’t mix up carp & crap. Though it sounds like you would...

Wow the west coast elitism is coming out strong in this thread. Obviously if you don't work in Silicon Valley or Seattle you must be trash lol

Uber Rqwx5o Dec 9, 2017

Nobody is saying trash. Just not enough concentration of talent to build a world class tech company

CareerBuilder hdTI13 Dec 9, 2017

Big tech companies disagree since they all recruit Georgia Tech heavily and many like Google and Square have had major engineering offices here. There are also a ton of startups that, unlike in Silicon Valley, actually earn a profit. There's more than enough concentration of talent to build a dozen world class tech companies.

Love Atlanta and the people in tech there! Only thing I personally dislike about it is the bad public transportation

Can the people living in Atlanta give a general introduction about the city? What’s good there, what’s bad? What type of companies or industry are prevalent there? Thanks!

CareerBuilder hdTI13 Dec 9, 2017

It's known as Transaction Alley and that's probably still the industry with the most jobs. Tons of startups of all stripes with some larger companies like Salesforce with offices in the city. What's bad is traffic.

Food. Food is awesome. I live in the suburbs and it isn't just Indian and Chinese or Tex mex as some have bragged about in San Francisco. Within 10 miles, I get authentic Perutian, Dominican Republic, Cuban, Mexican, Chinese, Indian, Thai, Vietnamese, Laotian, Japanese etc food and quit honestly probably the most diverse group of people ever.

One thing I have to admit is there are a lot more attractive women in Atlanta than Seattle. Not sure it's the weather or the water. When I moved from Atlanta to Seattle few years ago, I literally felt WTF.

Amazon 🎼c Dec 9, 2017

Almost every city has better women than Seattle
