Goog Employees Arrested
Hello, there’s always a couple positions at amazon in Los Angeles for an associate corporate counsel open. I was wondering what the work life balance is for an attorney there. I’m debating maybe transitioning from litigation/transactional to full transactional. Is the salary worth it?
anywhere from 150-200k +
You will work longer hours than you do at a firm. WLB varies from team to team but typically nonexistent. I've seen emails at 1am and 3 am, from US based attorneys. Promotions are hard so expect to stay at the Associate level for a while.
Thank you. My firm is really good right now. I make six figures and only work weekends 3x in the past 6 months. I usually go in at 8:30 and leave at 6pm. It’s just, work is lacking a team feeling. I want to be part of a team that supports each other. Everyone just does their thing, then goes home and repeat. I’m very lucky, but I don’t want the next 40 years to be like this.
Mind me asking which firm you’re at?
There are various types of corporate counsel. What your focus is will determine WLB. For example, securities will be scheduled and regular work generally. M&a would be ups and downs in work load. I worked in house at a fortune 50 tech giant for a while. Feel free to hit me up with questions.
What is the salary for lawyers at amazon?
