Have been hearing a lot about Austin, but mostly about dev opportunities. What are opportunities like there for a PM? Saw salary is generally lower than the Bay Area, but they have cheaper housing and no income tax. Also other hesitation is around the fact they don’t have as much Asian food as Bay :P. edit: Guns are also a concern.
There are some areas with expensive houses which have a rate of only 1.75% tax rate. These are approximately 1.5m homes but we're talking almost mansion size. 4000sqft with acre sized lots etc.
Why are guns a concern? There are a lot of guns in CA too.
CA has one of the most restrictive gun laws in the States. TX are further loosening gun laws (as of 9/1) https://www.cnn.com/2019/09/01/us/texas-new-gun-laws-trnd/index.html
@ms But you do realize there are still a shite load in CA? Until CA starts confiscating them the # of guns will always be increasing.
Guns are a concern 😂😂😂 my god the hysteria, lax gun laws are a plus.

IRS took 73K 😭
Cheaper housing , no income tax but high property tax. TCs are generally half of what they are in Bay area...
Ah I didn’t know the property tax part. How much higher?
Can be as high as 3% in some areas. Generally it will be around 2.5% depending on where you live.
