Australia tech scene
Anyone here from Australia? What are the companies with good culture and tech? Anyone from Atlassian, Canva, Zendesk, Afterpay or Seek give any insights?

Atlassian is a company to avoid by all means, they pull out offers from people after its past 10 days! One of my friends quit her job and then Atlassian rescinded their offer!
I'm originally from Sydney. The Australian tech scene is absolute garbage. The only decent office there is Google, but the people who work there are insufferable because they know they're probably the only decent place around. Atlassian is ok, good culture, but work is really dry. Canva has delusional leadership, and they've hired a bunch of low quality engineers recently ("Software Engineers" from Woolworths, who are literally the Albertsons of Australia). There are definitely some hidden gems around (at least in Sydney), I've heard Dolby has some interesting positions for example. But overall the scene is terrible.
I disagree. The job scene is developing, I’d rather be in a country that promotes tech and immigration, rather than a country where the future of immigrants is hazy!! Sydney has all the major tech offices all the FAAMG has offices here. Good culture, good weather, good pay and most importantly great lifestyle! If you’re a great SWE you would shine no matter which country you’re in! P.S I dont work for JNPR anymore, I work in one of FAAMG’s

Have any of u two actually worked at atlassian.....companies rescind offers all the time. U are not smart if u drop interviews one u get first offer. Always keep interviewing until start date
She did get multiple offers(4) and chose Atlassian(mistake!). As far as I know without putting a notice nobody can join any company! Don’t try to defend the undefendable. Companies have reasons and we get it but we need to call that out when people go through such!
Yea companies do that shit all the time, I never said they didn’t. That’s why I don’t stop interviewing until I actually start. Plus if u find a better offer u can renege on offer u accepted (which contrary to what people say about not doing, you should renege since as you show from example companies renege lots)
Zendesk has pretty great work culture. I’d recommend talking to some of the teams that work on the Support product or data science there.
Atlassian is an Australian company, obviously we’d have great offices here!
Australian tech culture is crappy for sure. AVOID MasterCard there. Its the worst company i worked there.
