Folks who became Directors/executives - at what age did you get to that position? Edit: 'Org size of 100+'. Did you get promoted within the company or switched jobs? Age: 33. TC: 300k
I think you can rephrase this question to “At what age did you reach a level of management in which your organisation had over 200 people?” At top tier companies this would be director, but it might be VP at lower tier company.
How many people does a Google or FB director manage on an average?
21 - Vice President at banks.
Made Dir at age 28. In data analytics at F100 health insurer. As a female. TC: 165k. I have managers underneath me and it's def. not just a "Sr. Mgr" role. Many older folks in their 40s on the team were pissed when it was announced and choose to move teams so as not to report to me. 2yrs later I'd argue their current positions are worse than what they could have stayed on as if they'd given me a chance. Really felt discriminated against in that moment for those folks not even allowing me 3 months to prove to them I'd be a good leader they could rely on. One even tried to hint to me that I was promoted due to "special favors"...jealousy makes people crazy! Oh well, now I'm on a great path and it gave me the chance to rebuild a really great team that works well together. In a way, if they weren't going to give me a fair shot, I was better off without them.
32, but the title for sure varies by company. Some places that is just a manager role, others it is a super senior role.
I don’t mean this as disrespect, but I’ve noticed Salesforce directors titles are a dime a dozen.
Some places directors are 25 year olds cause they want to make clients feel important. At larger more traditional companies, directors are 45+ and the title is very rare.
