Can any folks from Google share some light on BD / Product Partnerships / Platform Partnerships / Content Partnerships roles at Google / YouTube?

Heard these are tough. Would appreciate any tips and suggestions on how to prepare for Google interviews in general and BD / Partnerships interviews at Google in specific.

Thank You

Partnership roles are tough at Google b/c you have to understand technology inside and out to earn the trust of eng, which runs the company.

Interviewing was straightforward. It's mostly about role-related knowledge and team fit. What else can I answer? I've been in partnerships at Google for ~5 yrs.

Ok thanks. I’m in a Partnerships role right now. Any tips / suggestions / examples of what to expect in interviews and how to prepare? Are specific tech competencies and knowledge tested in interviews? Amazon’s interviews are mostly around leadership principles. Are google’s interviews also behavioral for non tech roles? what is sought during a cultural fit assessment - what defines googliness?

Googley-ness is a factor of hyperfocus on the user and not having an ego. It's pretty easy to pass.

Get ready for lots of hypotheticals, i.e. how would you develop a strategy around X, should Google buy Y company, why or why not? Be prepared to speak eloquently about a lot of subjects and to defend your answers with data (or how you would obtain the right data to make a decision).

It's also not uncommon for a PM or tech lead to be on the interview panel. They're there to test for cross functional compatibility and to silently vet if you understand the basics of tech. ;)

Thanks. Does the panel at Google have to decide unanimously on the candidate? Typically how many interviews do you have to go through? Who has the veto? How much weightage is given to the hiring manager’s opinion? Thank you. I interviewed once at Google 4 years back and did not get an offer - I was working a hectic job and was badly prepared. Thus want to make sure I put in adequate effort this time. Does previous interview history matter?
