Things are breaking down terribly on my 2006 series 3. Repair bills are coming to 2000$+ this year. Last year I paid 1000$ for repairs. Kbb says if I sell it I will get max 5K! Is it better to sell this money pit or keep pouring $ into it every year for repairs? Can I still buy 3rd party extended warranty to cover any future mechanical or electrical failures? What would you do?
Always lease a BMW , if you want to drive one.
Why?

What kind of 3 series is it? If it’s a 335 in manual keep it
Get a tesla model 3.
What to do with this car?
Dude, maintaining old car can be cheap if A) car is in great condition and was well maintained all times (you have few or ten years before it becomes expensive) B) you do all works by yourself (parts are mostly cheep, labor is expensive) - but this point is relative. It will takes your time and time is money. Do this if you want and enjoy this job. P.S. I do all works on my car by myself, but only because its kind of relaxing for me
Nope. Not fun driving anymore coz of thr constant worry of things breaking down
How OLD are you if your BMW is 10 years old?
How this question is relevant?
Sell it.
Sell it man. German cars are pia if not bought with warranty and complimentary maintenance
Can you please elaborate? Why is it so?
Read the original post. That is a pretty typical experience for BMWs once the warranty expires. I just got rid of my 2009 money pit.
