Hello, I am coming to Seattle with my 5 month old baby. Do I need to carry car seat or it's available on rent from airport? Is car seat mandatory even for infants ?
Available for free or small cost from all car rental companies if you're renting a car. Be warned that they are usually cheap ones that are a huge pain to install.
Car rental companies will generally be able to rent you a seat in addition to the vehicle. Your best bet is to call up your rental car company to make sure of availability. They are trash seats.
You can rent one from the car rental company? That is if they have any available.for the flight, Normally, you want to be first to onboard and request for a bassinet. First come first served
I think it is mandatory. I brought my 8 months old kid there before, and most Uber drivers refused to drive us because we didn’t have a car seat.
Car seats for babies are mandatory in the us. Both car or your taxi driver might have a backup. We were once coming back from a trip and the car seat was lost in transit. The airline (Alaska) gave us a new one. Without car seat your stuck in the airport.
If you can bring your own. They might not have enough and they are very dirty. You can check in a car seat for free at airport.
Are you travelling internationally? You can bring your own car seat on airplane/check into luggage for free. It would be both cheaper and less headache.
I think most airlines permit you free car seat and stroller even on domestic flights. Check car seat security standards if you are bringing it from outside the US.
They absolutely do domestically, I know it for sure. Internationally, they may need to purchase one just for the trip - if they don't have one. Besides, AFAIR a child seat must be ISO compliant or something, so airline won't complain. If used domestically, then I am pretty sure it is compliant. If internationally, check the labels 😄. It may just require some effort
It’s easier just to bring your own carseat. You already know how it works. It doesn’t count against checked luggage for every airline I’ve ever flown. If it gets lost, the airline will provide a free replacement.
