Making sure I answered this right. Background check for Microsoft position. I had a DUI in 2010 (yes I regret it, yes I learned how stupid I was, I was young and immature, no I don’t ever drink and drive, I completed all probation with no violations). Based on the question I answered NO because it says it EXCLUDES any driving related offenses including specifically DUI. I would have put yes but when I read excluding I put no. Am I reading this right? I haven’t heard anything yet, but I have the copy of the background check and it shows my DUI conviction on there. That’s what threw me off, why show is to the employer if they say it’s excluded? Thoughts?
I’m reading it the same way you did. 👍🏼

That involuntary termination is over reaching imo. Layoff is involuntary, but yet why should I tell them if I've ever been laid off?
I had 2- one in 2009 and another in 2013. They both showed up on the report, even though I only disclosed one. Took a while for them to ok my background, but they did ok it. I wouldn't worry about it.
Did you ever asked for an status update? It’s been almost a month since I submitted all the forms and i haven’t heard anything yet. I was thinking about reaching out to the MSFT recruiter. or should i just continue to wait? I disclosed a DUI i had back in 2013
When in 2010? Form says 7 years...
Yeah so I’m right on the mark, the arrest happened 2010, conviction 2011. So almost 7 years
You don't legally have to report a misdemeanor older than 3 years. Forget about it and move on. No one needs 2 know
