I failed 2 interviews (Netflix and Samsung) in a row and the feedback was the same: I'm a bad listener. I finished all rounds with both companies and both told me that even if I did well for the technical part, It seems that I'm a bad listener... I jumped too quickly on the technical problems and some cultural questions let them think that I was not able to listen other. Any idea how to improve that? I also know that because I have a lot of energy during my interviews and it can afraid because I talk a lot...
Sorry to hear that. Are you a nervous fast talker? During the interview just constantly keep it at the back of your head to speak slower and let the speak finish before speaking. Keep that at the back of your head during the interview, hopefully it helps.
I'm definitely npt a nervous fast talker. In fact, and it's a part of the issue, I'm never nervous during interviews...
Do mock interviews with people you trust and have them give you feedback and pointers. One big problem for “bad listeners” is that they talk over another person, and/or cut into the conversation without letting the other person finish. Quick way to fix that: just be quiet and let the person finish, even if you think you know where the person’s going with the sentence.
Until you're at meetings with people talking in circles and time running out... 🙄 But yeah, no interrupting at interviews

Honestly I haven't totally been on the other side of the fence but from someone that often gets complimented as a good listener: 1) try not to talk over people and pause when someone is speaking, 2) practice asking questions about what you're hearing; for example, "I heard that you mentioned this [something they said], can you clarify that?", and 3) take notes while someone is speaking, sit upright and genuinely nod/make eye contact as you're listening. This can help create the physical illusion that you're listening and practicing taking notes can help build your memory of what people say.
Thanks, I will definitely follow your advices.
Take online IELTS listening test and check your score. If you are scoring less than 7 than you need more practice.
I was not aware about this test, thanks for the info!
Let’s people finish their sentences. They are not looking for soulmate so you don’t have to finish theirs. Just smile and nod your head, try to count to 3 before you want to talk or answer anything.

Because of your response, I checked the symptoms list and even if I'm hyperactive when it's about work, I don't have the ohter symptoms at all :)
I've seen people who speak slowly and keep linking sentences without stopping. It makes me wonder if I'm part of the conversation. Time yourself and practice at home. Get used to cutting your sentences at times to let the other person talk. Ask the interviewer if they agree with your approach, if they nod, that's you letting them contribute.
Take 2 or 3 seconds of silence before responding.
Lol so shut the fuck up and let people talk.
