Tips and tricks to balancing a side project/ startup esp through the initial phases.
Time related: * More coffee, less sleep, more gym. * Develop a cadence to your life to simplify things * Find tools that make you more efficient (my life is a series of Google Spreadsheets) * Figure out shit you hate to do and pay someone else to do them for you (landscaping, cleaning etc) ... Profit
Be mindful of your employer’s guidelines on “sidework”. Especially in relation to IP development. Other than that, keep it on the hush, be ready to dedicate yourself as you would to your child. Next, eliminate attachments to superficial time wasters. Especially content consumption (unless it is relative), social media (unless you are marketing/networking) and negative people, since most will not exactly “support” your side project. Keep in mind that these people may take the form of family, friends, co-workers and associates. Ignore them but don’t cast them away. Follow your vision because it belongs to you and don’t expect others to do the same.
