I was offered a position for a Front End Engineer at BofA, the compensation will be $120k + annual bonus, location is Charlotte NC, this is a direct position with the bank, the title will be Vice President but the role itself will be for front end development, what do you guys think about compensation, is that a reasonable compensation? I have 5 to 6 years of experience ( around 2.5 to 3 in US and rest abroad)
Which org? Is that sales team or servicing team? Comp is pretty good. All VPs are getting the same compensation.
Payments team most probably but I don’t have all the details yet
Vice President. Bloated title. The offer is above average.
Right I am not focusing on the title, they already told me the title has kind of no real meaning 🤷🏻♂️
True. Title is just on paper. Entire floor is Vice President.
Payments team is really good. You get to work in Bank of America online banking space. They are planning to do platform migration so good challenging work. location is Charlotte Ballantyne area.
Awesome, good to know!
DM me is you need any help. I can connect with your project team members for accommodation details and any other details.
Please fix their shitty website
Just curious, what’s the issue that you are seeing in website. BOFA website is responsive. You talking about homepage or inside online banking?
Online banking experience is functional but feels really slow and old. I get banking transactions can take a while on the bankend but there's no cues or transitions to either give the illusion of speed or show that something is happening. I click an action and I hope what I clicked on got executed. I use amex, boa, and Chase services and Chase is definitely steps above everyone
Col is currently so that money is worth a lot more. While the VP title may be useless now it will look good in paper later.
Yeah I had the same thought
I'd take it if I was in your position.
Wow BofA balling.
Hope they keep doing so ;)
Definitely worth taking. You can also move around teams. BOFA recently launched AI Chatbot Erica. You can also move there if you want to work in cool chatbot stuff. That team Is also sitting in the same floor like yours.
That is good to know, yeah if there is that much going on then I think it is definitely worth joining
That’s beyond average for someone with only 5 to 6 years of experience. I know few people offered AVP with around 10 YOE and they’ve accepted.
I wouldn’t say beyond average as I have seen people making more with less experience than this but then yeah those are tech companies
That’s a good sal for Charlotte, Banking titles of vp and all aren’t much but good to have anyways
Yeah I am not concerned about the title much, as long as the work environment and compensation is great
You will be fine, take it else Wells Fargo is next door only :)
Great location and a stable company. I think it’s pretty good
Yeah I agree about the location, people say it is boring but I think the cost of living is better than other areas
