What chores do you do at home daily ? Does the spouse earning less take up more stuff at home or is it always the Mom/Woman ??🤔
I’m the breadwinner at our home and work much longer hours. My husband picks up most of the house work.
I wish I had the option
I pay all bills and my wife does all the cooking. We never discussed this after marriage, just naturally drifted into traditional roles. This is funny since before marriage we used to argue about equality vs traditions ad nauseam . I think my wife really likes not having to pay any bills, so she volunteers herself for more household work . She earns enough, a software engg herself. We both like this arrangement.
House repairs, bills, bank, pick up/drop off kids, occasional cleanup. TC 450
Tc 834k friend's wife doesn't work, no kids, just make sure husband is taken care of.
What sort of dumbass factors comp into who-does-what chores? You’ll live a miserable life and you’ll deserve every bit of abuse you get.
My husband and I work for the same company but I am the higher earner. We still have very traditional roles. I cook and clean the house but he does do the laundry.
Suddenly all women have higher salaries than their husbands in this thread. Has the gender pay gap conveniently reversed now?
The gender pay gap is supposed to refer to men and women being paid differently for the same job. My husband and I don’t work the same job. Hence, not an example of pay gap. I think you’d be hard pressed to find a husband and wife pair who do exactly the same job. Besides... there’s only 2 of us who posted that we make more. Not exactly a wave of evidence.
The only 2 women who replied to this thread earn more than their husbands. If the thread discussed pay issues(as opposed to chore issues) I m sure the feminist narrative would have been how they get paid less. In short the feminists morph into the victim role in any given situation.
Why would the spouse earning less do more chores? Wtf. It’s about time not money.
Although my TC is much lesser than 400k,. I make much more than 500k after tax per year. Here's how we split the work, I go to work, work many nights planning and moving money across investments, and take care of my kid taking her to school and classes, while my wife spends my money to pay off her credit card bills and occasionally buys us take out food using the same credit card. But the agreement is she buys take out food but I have to clean the table and clear the trash bags. Also she carried our child for 9 months and has pointed out that to me for like 9000 times.

Usually sweep floor and clean toilets daily and cook food for my wife . TC 450 K
If you cook healthy food, you will not have to clean the toilets daily.
Gotta scrub the toilets after eating all that overcooked kale.
