I’m currently working in the Data Analytics field in the banking sector. I have completed my Masters in Computer Science and Bachelors in Computer Science. I have about 2 years of industry exposure in total. I’m currently interviewing with a Series A startup in the Bay Area and the recruiter told me that they’re ready to extend an offer. I have a call scheduled with a member of the finance team in the company. I guess it might involve discussion about salary expectations. Initially when asked by the recruiter I told her that I’m looking for an industry standard salary. The company offers - equity - Bonuses - Unlimited vacation - 401k plan - Health coverage, etc What should my expectations be? Also, consider I will be relocating to the Bay Area.
Discount your equity 90-95% to account for failure and it being options instead of shares. Surprised there’s a 401k. I would bet there’s no match. Salary will probably be market or below.
Thanks @sJJv80 ! I’m trying to understand this in terms of numbers
Base should be around 135k
Thanks!
Look up the team members on linkedin. if they're fresh grads from lower tier schools, that's an indication they're cheap.
