Can anybody suggest a reliable tax calculator to find in hand salary after state and federal taxes. It will be married filing jointly.

      Yes 30% included federal,state,social security, Medicare and additional Medicare. If you are married and filing jointly

      Sounds low in CA.

      State income tax of about 9%
      SSDI of 3%
      Medicare of about 2% including the surcharge.
      Federal rate of only 16%? You must have a lot of mortgage deduction.

      No motagage deduction it's married filing jointly hence 29% for single u r right 40%

      For married joint filing standard deduction, slab thresholds everything is doubled for state and federal tax but FICA I.e social security Medicare etc remains the same

    Read in details about each component 29-30% seems right for 280k married filing jointly. If single it's close to 40%
