I am just curious to know how much do companies like Amazon , Flipkart , Walmart , PayPal, Google etc pay in Bangalore for a Senior software Engineer having 6 to 7 years of experience and Masters in CS ? How are the interviews like , is it leetcode just like here or are they different? I know Managers and above get paid well but not too sure about the engineers. I know there are also a ton of startups apart from the big names who are doing pretty well . Bangalore is one of the most expensive cities in India so I want to know for a decent standard of living what do these companies offer? I am just one of those immigrants who at the back of my mind have a thought of moving back to my home county for whatever reasons .
10mil/year
Rare
50LPA atleast. There are other players too like Stripe, LinkedIn, BigBasket, Myntra, Apple. If Bangalore is costly then how about Gurgaon and Mumbai?

Could you shed some more light on this ? Does it depend on the School you are from ? Or the previous company ?
I doubt school matters at SDE3 level. All other factors like experience, previous company, projects, domain knowledge and negotiating matter
Best option would be to join a company in Bay Area (which has a branch in India) and get RSU in dollars. Then relocate to India after a year or so, and keep getting the same RSUs (only the base changes to reflect cost of living). This will drive your salary for next ~3 years to at least a crore / year
Then rinse and repeat.
Rinse and repeat ? How ?
Just curious, about the "whatever reasons". Life is obviously better in the Bay Area than Bangalore. So, Why would you want to move back unless you have to (like taking care of family).
Family is obviously the first reason.. other reasons include 1) My social life in India was MUCH BETTER than what it is here. 2) Pay crazy amount of rent /mortgage for shitty houses in the bay area . 2) Mundane life here - sick and tired of the attending the same desi functions with the same set of people. 3) living with the constant fear of Visa/immigration issues and not being able to do anything apart from the regular job. 4) saving almost all of the vacation in a given year to go to India where as if you live back home you could use your vacations to explore the world . The list could go on and on ..
Wow you genuinely seem to love living in India than just having to go back for family. Personally, moving to India only reminds me of traffic, long commute times, lack of as much personal space as in the US, inability to go on hikes /road trips etc. It's interesting you don't seem bothered by these things at all, and look forward to living in India!! Plus work live balance isn't as good as US is what I hear, not sure if it is true.
Also, on moving to India aren’t you stuck being in the tech world? In the US, there are no age limits and you are free to pursue a PhD and enter the teaching field (US or India) or even try other careers
Is there any blog or write up by any one who have already made the move to Bangalore?
Many such posts if you Google. Here's one. https://medium.com/@selfishaltruist/my-experience-of-returning-to-india-after-spending-a-decade-in-the-usa-f6b18efc26ee
Just shedding light on some other things. Bangalore is said to have severe water shortage in several areas and also might have no water at all in the very near future. Also, current traffic and pollution is insane. Prices for housing doesnt seem worth for a loooot of the locations.
