ICE deporting illegal immigrants: Yuge protests Literally tens of thousands of high skilled Bay Area legal immigrants stuck in harsh and exploitative working conditions because of decades old immigration rules: Oops. I guess that's life. Gotta love the priorities. Edit: I did change the original post from saying it's a form of "modern day psuedo slavery" to "harsh and exploitative conditions" because a few people just got stuck on the word and miss the whole point of the post. You can read the comments. Edit 2: I put in the post to call out the hypocrisy of selective compassion that people have. Most the replies have been either if you don't like it, leave, or you have it good, I know it better than you, so shut up. Both of that prove the point I was trying to make. So thanks. Also, I'm a citizen, so before you reply assuming the post is about me, stop.
What does one have to do with the other?
In California, everything is illegal or causing cancer. Only the illegals are legal here! Yeah it's ridiculous that people oppose ICE for doing their job, but SOME hate Indians waiting for GC legally & have no empathy for 100 years wait Time. When we ask for fair rules we are criticized (I have read statements like Indians took whooping 30k green cards, lol, whopping?! 19 million illegals is less but 30k GCs taken legally is phasing out diversity of USA). But guess what, life is unfair get used to it. Become an illegal and gain sympathy, be here legally and get critized. Best of all, I highly recommend you to go back to home country (I will do same asap, US is great, people have treated me very nicely here but some aspects are toxic for legal immigration so would prefer home) :)
OP needs an entitlement check and a good grounding in reality.
Why the fuck would you assume it's about me? Jesus. The entitlement that oozes out of your need to be right always.
I know it’s not about you but there is no way you would think like that unless you are ignorant and entitled.
Everyone supporting illegal immigrants should open up their house and adopt a family. I say leave your homes unlocked.
Exactly !
Calling legal immigration "slavery" does not help get your point across.
There changed the description from "slavery" to harsh working conditions because all you dense idiots take things literally. And also, it's slavery when Amazon warehouse workers get exploited but not slavery, when I use it as a metaphor on blind. Jeez.
Add that as an edit. Everyone who has only seen the edited post needs to know how stupid the original post was.
Nor is it "harsh working conditions". OP needs to be put in an Amazon or walmart warehouse for a couple of months and he/she will understand what harsh working conditions trulyc are. Inb4 OP: you don't qualify for h1b to work in a warehouse.
Gotta up your marketing. Everyone loves a dreamer, no one knows what an h1b is unless they lost their job to one. Branding is everything.
Seattle managed to outmoron SF. Winner of stupid games won his stupid prize and remains dead. Illegals remain in detention. https://komonews.com/news/local/tacoma-police-shoot-man-throwing-incendiaries-at-northwest-detention-center Time for Bay area to up its game.
I don’t think a cushy 9-5 tech job that you signed up for can be called slavery. I am a h1b hopeful myself and yes, I think the rules are a bit too restrictive and need some amendments but equating h1b to slavery is pure toxic BS. Edit: OP changed slavery to "harsh working conditions" but I still think this post is bullshit.
Your ignorance proves my point haha
Many work visas are tied to a specific employers. So if you happen to be in a job that is miserable, you're stuck. For some countries it takes more than 10 years to be able to finish the immigration process and be able to change jobs.
