What do you consider best? Amazon Austin vs Bay Area Recent Graduate This would be my first job. I have never been to California. Should I start my carrier in bay area or should i go with austin and save money? Also having base 120k in bay area how much do you actually take home vs how much can you save in Austin with 108k?
Seattle is also a good option. Basically Bay Area TC with no state income tax and rent is at least 1k less a month. Main downside is the weather.
I love Austin ❤️ and hated living in San Jose.
Elaborate please? Which aspects are better in Austin?
I like the cheaper cost of living, male to woman ratio, less traffic, and the general laid back attitudes of people who don’t work 24/7. I also tend not to obsess over TC, and dislike hearing lots of folks in the Bay Area trying to get rich quick. I’m all for getting rich quick, just don’t like talking/hearing about all the time. Also my family lives in DFW so it’s the perfect distance to see them every now and then, but not too often lol
Bay area becoz of the opportunities here... Btw you should be thinking about earning more money than saving little money 😀
Get back here in 10 years son and tell us about your opportunities and how you’re used them and your net worth and we would laugh (or cry ) together. Not
Well role in FANG is as high as it gets right now so from what I earn i should consider where I can save more vs how much I can miss in terms of opportunities if i am not choosing bay area.
Bay Area as you are just stating your career.
If it is your first job you should be in the bay area. No doubt about that. Once you are in a more stable position in life, Austin would probably make more sense at that time.
108k in Austin can easily beat 150k in Bay area
And you can buy 3 decent houses in good neighborhood in Austin with the money that you will pay for a house in average neighborhood in bay area.
There are less Indians in Austin...this may be good or bad depending on whether you are Indian.
Austin
If you're starting out bay is better. Way more opportunities.
