Google recruiter reached out via LinkedIn, asking if I would be interested in a Inside Sales Manager position. Trying to weigh pros and cons before I speak with the recruiter via phone. Does anyone know what salary/compensation/benefits for that type of position looks like in the Bay Area? And what the culture is REALLY like? #googleinsidesales
I always reply to the recruiter with my comp and ask if they can hit it. Usually weeds out the jobs right away and saves time.
Lol and limits you just as quickly..
Yeah this is a stupid thing to do.
I haz a similar strat, but I would reply that I would like to work for Google, but I need to at least make the same comp as I'm earning now...which I inflate by 10%. Don't tell them a number you need up front and then realize later you should have provided a higher number. Because TOO LATE. I've weeded out countless potential opportunities this way. Because your comp should always be increasing.
That's kind of sad, there's more to a career, life, and happiness than the size of your paycheck
That's kind of sad, because the things you're talking about and a higher paycheck aren't mutually exclusive. In fact, many of those things are enriched by a greater supply of money. Like travel.
it's a tough job with high quotas. the pay is ok but the targets can be tough
Quotas are never easy. They are always typically "stretch goals" but if you have a good diversely motivated, sales team you achieve them. Can you share anything regarding to comp/benefits and culture.
What sales role are you in?
I am currently a sale manager, with 5 years of leadership experience
Glassdoor?
The 1st to put a number forward loses the negotiation
Interesting theory. I figure it's mostly true, though.
At Google, Sales Mangers earn an average salary of $163K per year. - Base Salary $107K - Annual Bonus $20K - Annual Equity $36K - One-Time Signing Bonus $18K Here's the data source: https://goo.gl/k1hkoS I don't know much about the culture though so I cannot comment on that.
