I doubt there is any difference in health benefits so I won't go there unless you ask specifics.

401k. Up to $6000 matching. Only deferred and Roth contributes are matched.

Beyond the $18,500 base 401k you can contribute an additional $31K to after tax. The after tax constrictions can be converted in plan to ROTH thus giving you the legendary mega back door ROTH.

If age 50 or above you can contribute an additional $6K

I consider the 401k above average for industry.

ESSP is max ten percent per paycheck and $7500 per 6 months. This is way below industry norms.

Instead of an annual bonus the bonus is paid out every 6 months. It is paid out a full two months after the end of the fiscal half. If you leave after the half but before the payout you get nothing. However in our last layoff those impact were told they would be paid a prorated amount.

Charitable contributions are matched 100 percent up to about $3K. Forget the exact number. Sometimes the company has events where it will contribute money to your favorite cause without you having to contribute.

RSU grants vest after on a 12 month, then 6 month schedule, over 48 months.

3 hours of free electric vehicle charging per day.

2X salary free life insurance up to $500k.

Vacation is "unlimited". I took nearly 6 weeks in 2017. Some people feel pressure, implicit or explicit to take nothing.

On site gym costs $20 a month.

Free snacks and soda at work. There are zero vending machines.

Huh. That's an insane crap. Even M$FT reimbursed up to $800 a year when I left it. You could spend it on a bike or SUP or snowboard or any other shit.

Re total comp. It depends on where you go in Oracle. OCI, the seattle based cloud org does much better on comp.

What is the interview process like at VMware... ie what takes place internally when they are reviewing candidates to move to next step and /or offer stage ?

Thanks... maybe I should have provided more context... looking at this from internal employees that can provide additional context outside of what is on the inter webs.
