Being recruited to work at Best Buy. never considered it before. What’s it like? Spare me no details, please.
position and location
Minneapolis for a position I cannot share, unique enough and visible enough would break anonymity
Best Buy is a great place to work depending on your options. The company is moving in the right direction. You haven’t mentioned what you will be doing so hard to tell more. I also work in the Seattle office and not Minneapolis.
What’s compensation like at Best Buy and target for senior software developers? Like architect level roles.
I would say it will be very competitive at BestBuy for that level of company. You cannot compare to Google and Facebook etc.
Minneapolis is a place to get depression due to string Winters. I also heard that they hire more contractors than FT, so a weak place to learn. But, it's difficult to get fired, so this could be your "Happily everafter!"
Accurate!
@bestbuy are you agreeing with the Winter convo or the “never get fired” convo
I've been working at Best Buy headquarters for almost 3 years. I like my team a lot, everyone is very nice and willing to share their knowledge. Love the environment.

Twitter has laid off 80% and is still functioning so well. What's the need for so many tech workers?
Geek squad? It’s a scam 😊
It's not that bad for seniors that need someone to show them how to close a pop up. Gives them someone to call or visit to help with that stuff of they don't have family around. We helped plenty of young, computer illiterate people too. I did it in college and it was that bad for people that literally didn't know how to use computers. The actual repairs were mostly bullshit. Just running antivirus or re-imaging it almost always. But real live help with basics is what I think made it worth it.
