So have a bud who just graduated, has a modest job and is looking out credit cards. Got rejected already by Chase and BoA. Any good suggestions on applying for one? ***Thread Closed***

Well you can really only get one by banking through one of the banks. Then apply for one of the lower ends... like USBank and apply for a Cash+ card or something?
Even chase and bofa should give secured credit cards
Bofa has $39 annual fee for secure. Not sure worth paying for it yearly if no plan to use it long term.
Discover is a good card to get when you don’t have much credit. Plus, they double the cash back you earn in the first year.
Get a card from a credit union. It is easier to get approved from credit unions than via big banks.
Discover seems to specialize in giving cards to people just starting out.
Citi dividend visa card - i know a kid who just graduated n got this card.
I think Target gives credit cards to basically anyone because it's a $100 limit you can only spend at Target. Still builds credit.
Thanks. Looking for a generic one though.
This is a good option just to build history before getting another card. You want cards that you will keep open forever. I don’t believe Target charged fees
