I am sick of my current job and ready to move out. But I think I will need some dedicated time to prepare if I really want to land a job at one of the top companies. With the current schedule it's becoming really difficult to prepare so I am exploring these three options. 1. Resign and prepare well for interviews 2. Take a long leave (with the risk of getting fired) and squeeze in preparation and interviews within that time 3. Try to prepare with the current job and run the risk of getting rejected due to lack of prep What would you prefer?
Really depends on situation. If I'm 22 living at parents house the #1. Else #3. You can't take it for another 6 months?
I don't know if I should drag it for 6 months. I will be miserable and might screw up both current job as well as interviews.
Don't know if your young but at some point I think we all learn that happiness at work comes from the inside and we stop letting external stuff bother us. Of course this could be some crazy stuff ur dealing with. Not trying to down play it. Good luck.
I did #3, it’s not hard, have a family of 3, plus hobby’s and obligations.
I’m doing #3
I don't think with this mind set u ll really land in another company for 3 more years until u get fired..!!! I'm not critising u but how can u not get daily an hour time to prepare if u r really not getting something wrong with ur time management.. Fix tht first. All the best
If you need to prepare too much, you're either not fit for the job or the interview is wrong. In either case, you better not bag that job to avoid further misery.
Never leave a job without another job offer unless you're so hating the current job that you'll risk longer unemployment. If you want to take time off, do a deferred start.
^This is gold. If you are that worried about failing interviews, be methodical about who you really want to work for and what you really want to do. Then space them out so you can prep in your limited free time.
Also, some of the best interview prep 9s taking interviews at companies you're not that interested in
What makes you hate your current job? Is it the job or people?
Never quit without a new job lined up, I say go for a mix of #2 and #3. Prep during your free time and the weekends, and use the time off to go interview
The best of 2 & 3 😉
