Best car with L2 autonomous features?

L2 = ACC w/ stop & go + lane centering. However, many details are hidden from the Ads/brochures. Examples: Time interval for holding full stop w/o pushing ACC button; Speed range for lane centering feature; Whether the lane centering can be based on both lane markers and the car in front of you or lane markers only; Whether it is hands free for stop/go traffic w/o warning; ... Would be great to hear the experience of Tesla AutoPilot, Volvo PilotAssist, Toyota TSS2.0, and a bunch of other candidates.

Just go grab a brew with your best mates. There’s nothing in the world that makes you feel as good. Not a woman, nothing. 🍻

Are you open to retro fitting ? Heard of comma.ai ? Tesla AP blows everybody else out of the water in your list.the only thing that's comparable or even better than Tesla AP is Supercruise. However that's only available on the GT6 Cadillac and only works on divided highways. I keep hearing that Mobileye is working with OEMs to release L2+ (maps + localization) features on cars but haven't heard which cars are slated to use those features first. For the curious, i drive a '11 camry

That's gonna be BMW most likely. Comma.ai system apparently works on par with Tesla.. I'd be interested to know if anyone has actually tested it out...

A lot of people actually do. There is a discord server where a lot of users hang out

The new Subaru EyeSight in the 2020 models will be great

Interestingly, Subaru USA did not use “Touring Assist” which has been used for their Japanese market products but rather simply mentioned “lane centering”. Would love to have a road test to see how it performs

What is the difference between L3 and L2?

Spotify Pla32j Feb 9, 2019

From a technical definition it means that the vehicle controls ALL the factor in the environment (usually through extra sensor like LiDar). From a practice stand point it means that you can disengage completely with the machine (as in drinking coffee, reading your paper, etc) the Audi A8 for instance on some roads let you do your business as long as you can re-engage with the car within 50seconds from an alert. I had the chance to try it out and it’s quite amazing

I have both the Mercedes GLC 300 and Tesla X with enhanced autopilot. In terms of lane following and acceleration, they both do equivalent job. It’s made my commute to work a lot more bearable/relaxing. For some reason, I feel the controls on the GLC is more “comforting” than Tesla. GLC has one pull to turn on autonomous feature. Tesla has one pull for cruise control and two for cruise + lane following. For some reason that’s unnecessarily confusing. The Tesla X has lane changing and routing. That’s been very nice on long road trips.

Are you saying you can let go of the steering wheel for minutes at once on the freeway with the Mercedes?

Uber [👈 💼 👉] Feb 10, 2019

Yes. It’ll give you warning to keep hands on the wheel, but you can just tap the wheel. It’s great in stop and go traffic. https://youtu.be/MjsZ37UGjOE https://youtu.be/_buTONoQpU4
