I'm moving to Seattle from Canada and started looking at phone plans. The prices overall look way better than Canada, but there are also many more options. What would you recommend for the best cost/quality ratio for phone plans? I have a Samsung phone and so far I looked at Textnow, Republic Wireless (unlimited 4G 40$ plan) and Project Fi (but I would need to buy another phone I believe). I'm also data hungry and often video chat or facebook call with family and friends around the world.
I think you should look at the T-Mobile unlimited as the baseline. You get free roaming in 140+ countries and the quality is there. The only concern is that it may be a bit more than the super cheap plans. But the difference is negligible and the plans were better. That’s my impression when I looked at this, it came down to T-Mobile and project FI
Plus, T Mobile's plan works in Canada and Mexico (ultd talk/text/data), so if you go back to visit Canada, your phone should just work. I'm currently traveling the world and it feels like magic to have a phone where data works seamlessly as I cross borders. With five lines in my plan I pay $35/month.
If you can get a set of 5 people for a family plan cricket wireless is great. I pay 30 bucks for 8gb with unlimited calls and texts across NA. Just won't be able to finance new phones
^ this. I pay $20/mo for 5gb data
T mobile hands down if you have four or more people. Unlimited data and everything else. Consider joining someone else's plan if it's just you and your wife.
I suggest get a group of atleast 4 (excl u) and go on cricket wireless. Piggy backs on AT&T and you get data for cheaper than the major carriers.
