Just out of curiosity where do most designers prefer to work after Facebook or Google?
Currently at google, thinking of joining dropbox or airbnb
Leaving google already? Did you just come from yahoo to google?
FB has the best design period
I’ve heard this, but never heard why. Love the products so maybe that’s evidence enough. And there’s plenty I haven’t seen.
Lots of designers at FB just spend time on ad buying interface. Terrible way to spend your life. Most designers hate the work. But it pays.
What constitutes best?
Not Google
From my experience: Some parts of Microsoft are fantastic. Some parts are abysmal. Really depends on the org and the product. Probably true of any discipline and company.
Not sure how designers, champions of woke-ness and morality, choose to design at Facebook. Money talks, I guess.
I'd be interested in what design is like at square. Are there opportunities for customer facing product design?
I’m not a designer, but most of our work is merchant-facing, ie helping people start/run/grow their business. We do have customer-facing products (Cash App, Caviar, loyalty, checkout experience, etc) and most merchant-facing products have a customer-facing counterpart to some degree. But generally this isn’t the place to work if designing for kids/influencers/consumers is what drives you.
Salesforce!
Anything must be better than Amazon, particularly the Kindle org. Yet management is eager to pretend it’s all good, with no future direction that is remotely exciting

How to save India from destruction?
Are FB and Google the consensus top choices for designers? I assume Lyft, Airbnb, Spotify, Netflix are appealing to many. Maybe some of the agencies/consultancies.
I may be biased, but Netflix never struck me as a design-first company
Netflix takes design as seriously as Hulu, just in a different way. They didn’t try something as radical as Hulu did with the most recent app, that’s true. You guys do really nice work!
