The pain is real. I’ve been searching the usual suspects and can’t really find quality system administrators. Where do you guys search for people who can secure Linux boxes, understand the OSI layers, understand devops, redundancy, disaster recovery, firewalls, etc? I’m pretty sure I would have better luck on the east coast or in SF.
Message me :) , I think you need to start the search for remote workers. It's become sort of a mess lately looking for talent. The higher level admins and sre types are starting to look for remote positions, we are starting to value family time at this point. If your looking for just junior staff then that's a challenge as lots of people coming out want to be more software focused. They were sold software riches via apps.
If you’d have asked this question an year or two before, I’d say red hat. Most of the good ones I know left, but still worth trying. And yes, a good number of Red Hat employees work remote.
Yeah I have friends in redhat and am surprised how many are leaving.
Maybe the problem is you. How much you offering to pay them?
