Best place to rent a 1 bedroom apartment for a single guy working at Microsoft?
I like to have some amazing restaurants near to where I live, malls, etc. I also need to stay close to Microsoft but the closest set of apartments to Microsoft don't have close access to great restaurants, good downtown, etc. I don't want to travel more than 6-7miles to office. Which place should I stay while working at MSFT Redmond? Budget for rent is $1800/month

Capitol Hill in Seattle is probably the closest place meeting your criteria. Some will recommend Bellevue downtown, but doesn't have character IMO. Don't worry about the commute too much, lots of people do it and are fine with it. But your main issue is the rent budget. You might get a tiny studio or something for that.
What do you mean exactly that Bellevue downtown does not have a character?
It's new, too yuppy for my taste. Seattle is all about unique neighborhoods. But again that's my point of view. Use your relocation, I think they give you upto 45 days, and see which neighborhood you would enjoy living in.
Bellevue downtown, studio. 1B would be 2200+
Also joining Microsoft, check out AVA Capitol Hill! Great location and right next to the Connector shuttle. I don't think you can get a nice 1 bd for 1.8k anywhere in Seattle, a studio is probably the most realistic.
Keeing all other things aside, why are your leaving Amazon for Microsoft? Please be as detailed as possible. Just make sure you don't accidentally reveal your identity

I think honestly you should come and search. I once got a really good deal from a private owner on Capitol Hill just because he liked people from Microsoft. Apparently they don't trash the places.
Seattle is out of my options. So now the only options are Redmond and Bellevue?
Redmond is cheap. You can get a 1br 1ba for 1800
