What is the best way to get maximum trade in value.? I tried CarMax and shift, both of them are quoting way too less. Mine is a leased car and it has 6 months left on lease. I am not planning to buy the car at the end of the lease.
the only way to make more is to buy it and sell it on your own.
Yeah that's an option. I am looking at possible options other than buying and selling.
The downside is that you will have to pay sales tax on whole price when buying new car. If you trade in when buying, you only pay sales tax on the difference.
Why don’t you just keep the lease and return it
Lease return is always an expensive thing. Since they would be selling the car later as certified pre-owned. They will Ensure that all the expenses to increase the car value is taken from me. This includes changing the tires, 30k service which will be around 700$ and a lease disposition fee. I wanted to avoid all these things since I won't be using this car much for the next few months because of travel
I would turo your car if you're traveling. The only other option is to leverage your CarMax offer at a dealership which would only get you $2k more max. Or sell privately but that's a pain in the ass
Try carvana or vroom. Their offers are usually better than carmax. I got $1800 more than what carmax offered me when I sold my last car.
Thanks will check it out
This is hard. There is a base (KBB pricing). But, the pricing can vary widely depending on several factors. The dealer's inventory, car maker's promotion, the car's conditions, what you are getting next, and so on. If I were you, I would clean the car very well so it looks good inside out. Make sure there isn't any apparent issue. Maintenance record also helps.
Well apparently you can. These companies like CarMax will directly deal with the leasing company and get it done
