Best work from home companies? Is QA always boring?

Can't drive, and don't have public transit that doesn't take most of the day to get anywhere.
Other than moving, what places have good work from home policies? That aren't Automattic (they wanted free work for a year last I checked).

Context on question:
My last job got overly 6sigma on you if you didn't respond immediately to every im.
Not allowed to drive bc narcolepsy.
Current one switched me to wfh in a qa role, but added the caveat that I am required to be in 2 days/wk. On day one I carpool. On day 2 I can't carpool and its excessively expensive to uber there and back. Excessively in the sense of approx 400-$600/mo.
Talked to management about lifting the 2 day requirement, but their response was pretty shitty.
There is 0 part of my new role that requires a physical presence. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ time to move on I guess.

Tldr: Since narcoleptic: can't drive, job is brain dead, I pay to go to work, help pls.

Were you in software development before moving to QA? Yes, I think qa is boring. Gitlab.com is a good work from home company.

Dev but IT title. I had a LOT of freedom in patching & apps, and full stack. Basically, if it was a terrible idea I "have to do hardware inventory", and for interesting ones I'd go through the weekend and make it perfect.
So.... Some of qa is all from the bad idea point of view, but it's now my job to press forward with it 😭
That + the asinine in office req that's killing me.
I will check out gitlab tomorrow.

Ya. But they aren't in the area. Waze is, and was awesome, but the only person in the area stopped doing it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Automattic isn’t free work; even trial work at beginning is paid.

It's been considered, but isn't something we can do at the moment.
