Is it too late to join Bird if you're hoping to get some upside on the equity?
I mean it’s probably worth something... unless the company dies
Maybe that's the real question. Is this the peak valuation or does it still have big upside?
They now have at least 13 competitors and that’s just in the US. There’s no differentiator for that product. Uber and Lyft will come in with their product(s) and people won’t have to download new scooter apps to use the product.
Even if it is, Travis will low ball you. That’s just what he does.
That company with the bird logo is called Twitter.
Ooohhh 🤣
Lmao
I don’t think bike sharing companies will ever make money. They haven’t been profitable yet in China. Given much fewer cities here in the States, I don’t see a good exit strategy other than getting acquired. If they get acquired for cheap, you may end up making nothing.
Bird is valued at 2 billion so an acquisition at that valuation is unlikely. Uber tried to partner with them and they passed. Lyft will never ever partner with Bird. So they’ve kind of backed themselves into a corner where they now have 13 competitors, 2 of which are huge companies that operate at massive scale globally already. And again, most people have either or both of those apps already downloaded on their phone.
Is it really a scalable business? When was the last time anyone outside on a metro area used a scooter? I don't think I've ever seen someone in new york on a scooter over the age of 9. Seems over valued and under prepared.
Bird and Lime are very strong businesses with lots of upside. I've looked into this pretty deeply. Read more here: https://futureengine.org/articles/scooters-are-worth-10b
OK, what the hell is Bird?
Bird is the new uber
