Bird vs Google
I'm a senior IC at Google. My current work is impactful, but I'm not in love with it. I recently was contacted by Bird, interviewed, and got an offer for a senior position. Worth the switch? Comp is less (but not terribly) now but could be more if Bird multiplies its current valuations (they'd have to 3x+ to $6B to break even; anything over and Bird would be better). Kinda tired of big companies, but worried about culture and risk of Bird.
Dude, don’t do it. Bird just wants to make a PR move of “Ex-Googlers work for us... look how hot we are”. If I’m you I wouldn’t take the risk.

Well, in that case then you have ways to do some due diligence. Talk to them and understand their overall morale. And I can understand what you are going through. After a certain point sitting through 10 meetings to push a line of code could get tedious. Best of luck!
Can't you switch teams within Google? If you don't like your job, don't stay.

Seriously? Why on Earth would you take a pay cut to go from Google to Bird? Really? Are you on a PIP or expecting a Needs Improvement in perf?

Its a company with competitors which means it will be a lot of pressure to deliver which means you will sacrifice on quality and fighting fires which means you will burn out quickly. Not worth it.

It’s not as terrible an idea as other comments make it look like, but 3x to make comp even is crazy. Their package needs to be much better for you to consider them.
