Blind has been doing stickied polls that they don’t immediately show the results to. For example: “Will Amazon crash during Prime Days?” In this example, they could filter down to only Amazon employee responses and if there was an overwhelming “Yes” response, short AMZN. Do you think this is the end game? Or some other form of monetization on this, ie selling the results to industry players or someone like Gartner.
Conspiracy? I thought this was already well known.
Probably not insider trading, but yes on selling to research firms
I doubt they're monetizing through surveys lol. Blind shares the results on their blog and their social media accounts.
Full statistics, including breakdown by company, could be useful.
Could still sell the raw data + early access before they publish the blog
Just to be safe, we better all buy stocks in giant dinosaur petro companies.
Or brick and mortar retail
I don't think the sample size would be big enough to take seriously
Imagine if 1000 non-amazon people answer 20% "yes", and 15 Amazon people answer 86% "yes". Large margin of error, but I'd probably still bet some money on that as a signal of some negative insider information (although it's not clear to me that it's even legal to do that)
I work at Amazon and I have no idea if anything is going to crash lol
99% of amazonians on blind have no more intel than the average idiot. If Blind is selling these results, they are running a hell of a scam
If you know the service that caused it to fuck up last year, you might be able to look to see if COE action items were done
Blind does not do trading based on polls. Blind polls are the worst way to get information. Conspiracies 🙄 Blind makes 💰 on insider trading from information in company chat.
This is crowdsourced insider trading. Be careful guys. Do not answer any company performance related questions.
Asking a ConocoPhillips employee if Amazon will crash on Prime Days 🤔
Agreed
