That game was a collaboration with a Chinese competitor. They were already making the game, and since you can't beat them, join them. Internally, the morale is low due to the new leadership making extremely questionable judgement calls.

I super disagree with this assessment. I think anyone in an entry level position feels that way because those not in business decision roles do not see outside short term planning. Individual contributors live too much in the now. Blizzard Is too populated to not be run like a big company. Honestly though, Employees are just like Players, Blizzcon was probably not the best place to announce a mobile game in a room full of PC gamers and would share that sentiment. But to be clear, I don't think Netease is a competitor they are a partner so that Blizzard games can be published in China. No Netease = No Blizzard in one of the biggest gaming markets.... Do you not like profit share? 🤣 I think morale is sad panda just because of the layoffs. Which happens in every company that faces that decision. Change is hard for a lot of people. But I'm cool with it if it means focusing efforts in places it makes sense and provides future job security in a place I love.

Idk we don’t really mind we just ship diff products for, if not an even bigger, scale than others so we’re happy. A lot of people who leave here get poached by fang for infra work or a game department so we just want to be happy doing what we enjoy :)
