Bloomberg vs Facebook NY as a New Grad

Facebook NY Offer (E3 New Grad): $115k base, $100k signing, $220k RSUs over 4 years, $10k relocation (Year 1 TC: $280k)

Currently interning at Bloomberg and expecting to receive a full time return offer. Is there any way Bloomberg can come close to the year 1 TC being offered by FB? If anyone has any suggestions on how to get Bloomberg to match as best as possible that'd be great.

Only considering these 2 for full-time because I want to be in NY and tired of interviewing lol.

Pros of FB: Better name on resume I think?, faster career progression, more $$, slightly better perks/benefits, more fast paced/modern, more of a tech company than BB in my experience.
Cons of FB: Not enthusiastic about products, questions about company's future trajectory (possible regulation/antitrust/etc.), bad public perception/constant negative news cycle/poor moral compass, poor WLB.

Pros of Bloomberg: Awesome WLB, HQ in NY (hence nicer NY office), non-public company and hence steadily flies under the radar, TC is all cash.
Cons of Bloomberg: Probably lot less $$ in Year 1, lots of legacy stuff and very not modern tech (though they seem to be trying to improve it a lot), no free breakfast/lunch/dinner like FB :(

I want to strongly consider Bloomberg but the main hiccup is likely massive difference in TC. FB pros would indicate it is a no-brainer but I keep having some hesitation about accepting the offer. Probably just recency bias due to the massive recent negative press about the company? Definitely still leaning towards just taking FB simply to collect that year 1 TC though.

They would be comparable year 2 onwards; Bloomberg will offer $200k year 1.

My thought is different. If your career goal is SWE, then no-brainer fb. However, remember this is NYC, which is not tech hub, but finance hub. If you plan to stay at NYC, the best you could get from this city career wise is to related to finance. Then BBG would open a door to finance for us tech ppl. Always plan your career in long run.

FB all the way. It’s near impossible to get into NY at E3 right now.

You seem to be pretty sure for something that is completely wrong. It's 142k base, 18k target, 10k relocation, 30k signing.

Source: I had a 170k offer (without signing) but I didn't have a competing FB offer like OP's.

FB or Bloomberg? OP seems to have interned at FB cause only the top 10% of FB interns get $100k for their full time offer.

Year 1 TC 280?? This is insanely high. But do expect a high pressure environment with low job security.

On the recency bias thing: do a 180 on that. FB savaged in press recently means a nice discount on the stock. You’ll get a larger # of shares for the fixed cash amount for your first grant and then when the market gets its head out of its ass and the price recovers, you’ll make that much more.
