đ¤¨đ§ I thought police were only the best people. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.cnn.com/cnn/2018/09/24/us/dallas-police-officer-fired-botham-shem-jean/index.html
What bothers me the most is that in US. Cops who kill black men either go free (no charges) or at best "fired from job" which doesn't mean anything to them because they can easily find something else and move on with their lives as if nothing happened.
Keep believing the narrative. 99% of the cases where the cop shoot, it was justified. The ones that arenât, they go to jail.
That would only work if you think a death sentence for the following is fair: -Resisting arrest -A cop thinking (or just shouting really loud about how) they saw a gun. -âwalking with purposeâ -being too drunk -being too homeless -being too naked -oops, not knowing the difference between a taser and a gun! -an officer feeling frightened -violent jerking motions (while being tazed). -running when a cop doesnât want to run after you. Most of these cases never make it as far as a grand jury let alone trial let alone prison.
You clearly have no clue. Have a good one bud.
You know what's even sadder? When Oregon passed a gun control law recently to bar domestic abusers from getting firearms they had an exception for Police officers. Law enforcement is like any other people pipeline - garbage in garbage out. And local governments are doing a terrible job keeping the wrong people out of the force.
Are you sure about that?
GUN BAN FOR INDIVIDUALS CONVICTED OF A MISDEMEANOR CRIME OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE -- 18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(9)
https://www.oregonlive.com/washingtoncounty/index.ssf/2016/12/federal_state_laws_try_to_keep.html "That law is subject to a third statute, ORS 166.260, which describes exceptions, including one for police."
That's not a good thing. Like at all. I wouldn't want randos with anger issues to buy firearms much less make them keepers of peace and order.
David French, a conservative columnist for national review stated that he's seen more trigger discipline with soldiers in a warzone compared to police in American cities. I'm not gonna say all police are bad but when police training frames it as "Police vs Bad guy" it primes the officer to automatically assume that everyone is a threat.
That article is a false equivalence. There is an exception for cops to retain their weapons in certain felonies but those are RARE. I can guarantee you that no one will sign on an officer retaining their gun if they are accused of DV. With that said Iâm interested in any data that suggests that police officers commit more domestic violence than the regular population. Every police officer that I have known two officers who committed an act of domestic violence, they are no longer working for law-enforcement.
You are about as likely to die from a bee sting as being shot by a police officer.
Maybe thatâs true... but you donât have 50% of your townâs taxes going towards hiring and maintaining bees trained to sting people.
Neither do you - itâs about 6% of state and local taxes. Welfare is about 21%. Someone beat you to your argument 50 years ago to develop a shitload of low ROI social programs - hasnât worked. https://www.urban.org/policy-centers/cross-center-initiatives/state-local-finance-initiative/projects/state-and-local-backgrounders/state-and-local-expenditures
Did a bad cop ruined your day?
There are dirtbags in every profession, we arenât exempt. With that said, most of us risk our ass to keep limp-dicked assholes like yourself safe... you are welcome.
Are you saying that youâre a cop?
Interesting that pointing out a need for police accountability means I'm a "limp dicked asshole". You sound like exactly the sort of person who is rude to people on traffic stops.
