There are so few women in my office you can standup and count them quickly. And on top of it, women developers are even fewer. I’m so damn bored in office. Everyone treats me well and I have a good reputation in office. The guys are having all the fun with other guys and de stress themselves. I eat lunch alone and take breaks to just walk around and keep moving for health reasons (again doing that alone) I’m not telling they are wrong but for me, It’s so boring I don’t even want to go to office (even if I love my job but I’m so damn bored). Already the job is stressful and it’s impacting my health and with no fun, my office life sucks. I feel really awkward in between all the men. Has anyone faced this and how do you deal with it?

Be careful what you wish for..
This is why we need more women in tech. And corporations are more than happy to stop there for cheaper labor. I on the other hand more highly support less men in tech and more men in teaching and healthcare and quite frankly the bar for becoming a teacher should be higher, that should fix the low wage problem here in the US.
My wife is an engineer and developed vehicles. She really feels the same as you, in her office. She did make friends with another lady, who works in the same building but a different office. Still, with her as the only engineer she isn't happy about it. Sorry about your situation and it sucks that so few women are in STEM.
That’s really nice of you to be empathetic towards your wife about her situation.
I’m struggling to understand the correlation between gender distribution and boredom. Mainly because boredom is caused usually by mundane work. Are you saying that your male colleagues are excluding you on purpose?
I agree, it sounds like she isn’t being utilized enough. This is a problem for women in tech. Stay strong and don’t be afraid to ask for more work.
I don’t know if they exclude me on purpose. They just get up from their desks and ask each other if they are up for some fun. They never ask me though. They have lunch with each other but they don’t invite me.
Either they’re ALL shitty or your behavior might be standoffish. In my team we ask everyone around and all the women join us. And no one feels left out.
It’s lame they don’t ask you. I’m going to assume that they’re maybe just introverts and don’t know how to ask someone they aren’t used to hanging out with. Have you tried saying: Hey mind if I join you for lunch? What about in meetings and other work situations. Do you feel like your opinions are heard and respected?
I feel exactly the same way! It’s a total boys club at my job and I have to deal with a large age gap as well, which makes things even more awkward sometimes. For me this company is absolutely not compatible with my values, the lack of women really shows lack of diversity and that they are far behind in the times. Try to be friendly with the guys and join their conversations if you can and get by. Try to look for a more woman-inclusive company for your next job.
I am in finance and it is mainly guys. Make an effort. Ask someone to lunch. No guy would have you as a friend? I don't believe that. It may take some work. Also, stop saying bored. It makes you boring! Get an audible subscription and listen to books on your break. I generally don't have friends at work. It is what it is but you can call someone you like on your break or something! You do you and don't worry about others.
I feel awkward around men too. Around women. Around people. Around adults and kids. Around people and animals. I made friends with Jarvis.

Switch careers, become a public school teacher. You will be bored because there are too many women. Healthcare is another good option. Or make friends outside work.
Can attest to healthcare
