Bored in tech, what's something fun and diverse for high skilled jack of all trades that isn't 80 hr/week consulting?

Been there done that, swe, consulting, pm. Not finding much satisfaction building products. All in all the money isn't making my happy, there's only so much I can buy and decades of frugal living to retire early doesn't sound great if I'm this bored in my prime. Consulting was interesting with diverse problems, but I'm not looking to live to work. What's out there with respectively fine TC (not expecting to keep my golden handcuff tc at Google). 9 yoe

Non profit. Gates foundation?

Thought about that, but figured they would pay peanuts... Sounds interesting though, I'll have to check it out

Albertsons has a great coder you could pair with and then they'd even have two!

As a consultant, ThoughtWorks doesn't do more than 40 hours/week. Sometimes there's a few hours/week of travel but that's not always the case.

Have you tried security/pentesting? It can get really exciting, comp is good, problems are diverse and sometimes require very deep technical knowledge.

I mean, that's a dream. As a comp eng grad all i wanted to do was grey hat, 10 years ago i was up on the trends, but then i got a job and started enjoying the money and never got back. Applied for a few jobs but no calls back from what i expect is that i have no experience in it. Honestly, i get shit on as Google pm for being too technical. I miss the tech, but i love the problem solving as a pm.
