I currently work for Wayfair but have received an invite to transfer to the data science team. I'm also doing outside interviews and have received an offer from Bose. Bose is higher base but no equity. 120k base + 5k bonus. Also able to WFH twice a week. TC 125k. Office is in Boston Landing, so out of the city. Bose also offers a pension. Wayfair is lower base but higher bonus and equity. 93k base + 9.3k bonus + ~6k equity per year at current price. TC 107k ish. Office in the middle of the city. Thoughts about these two companies/offers?
One with better experience. I'd imagine wayfair as I dont see Bose having much data or as much data driven products
IoT mostly I’d assume, they also have the new AR glasses
The pension is significant if you're someone who wants to stay put... I also think generally the higher base is more attractive
The pension actually starts vesting after 3 years
Boston Landing is not outside the city. It is not downtown, but still very much in the City.
It does *feel* outside the city, dont you agree?
No brainer. Go to Bose
Why?
TC. Plus I hear that Wayfair culture is shit. Definitely would also continue interviewing if I were you. $125k is new grad pay
Bose - take the TC.
What did you finally do OP ?
OP, can you tell me about the wayfair interview process?
Bose, while a great Brand, is not currently a good place to work because of stability and generally poor management. I work in the above mentioned area.
YOE?
