Do you know, what do they ask in the 2 hour coding interview at Box. I am interviewing for a backend position, so I don't think they would expect me to build a mobile app or web app
They will put you in a box for two hours. All you gotta do is figuring out entanglement.
I heard you have to watch a mime try to get out of a box for two hours. If you make it the job is yours. Good luck!
Hopefully it's not like in the Saw movies
It will be a backend related problem, no fancy stuff.
It's not too hard. I don't think it was two hours though. I thought box interviews were pretty tough overall.
It's about 15 minutes of reading the question and answering your questions about it, 90 minutes of you working on the problem, 15 minutes of explaining your code.
What kind of problem is that? More like leetcode-style puzzle or building some small project/api/oop/concurrency?
How important is it to generate a complete compilable and working solution in 90 mins ?
Can you please share your experience?
A simple problem on generic database stuff. U will see that problem is simple. Its just that u will need to hurry up as the finer nuances are much more than what one might expect. Make sure u run through the design before u start. Its very important to have a runnable code or else u need to have a slam dunk in the other rounds to be considered for an offer.
2 hour coding is something I have never heard/experienced in any interview. This surely cannot be a question such find all anagrams of a word. What do you mean by generic db stuff? Do they expect someone to implement memcached kind of db. That would a little too much.
please share the question and experience.
