Low TC people learn about the market rates, high TC people gets to brag. To revise : TC = Base+Bonus per year+Worth of stocks to be vested per year. Optionally add joining bonus, relocation bonus. YOE = years of experience in current title Location Title = swe, pm etc. don't put senior, junior any of that crap Optionally add level. e.g. (185k, 3 yoe, Bay area, swe, L3) Make it your blind signature and add it with every post and every comment. Thanks. -- 185k, 3 yoe, Bay area, swe, L3
Bump, idk if thats how it works on here but fk it
No. At a tiny company with no pay transparency but almost certainly lots of pay inequality the combination of TC and job title is basically equivalent to just writing your full name and address.
You can of course vary the numbers a little as long as they don't mislead others.
Doesn’t solve the problem. I told my coworkers how much I make but they won’t tell me, so I’m guessing they’re embarrassed that they make more, but I don’t know how much more. If I underestimate the difference then my salary range still identifies me. If I overestimate the difference then I fail the objective of not misleading others. Better to just say, I do know many past and current coworkers have complained they make less than market rate, and I make less than market rate.
As a mediocre-TC office worker, I wholeheartedly support your opening paragraph. We non-rich would have no idea how well some people are paid given society's infamous culture of secrecy about salaries. 44k, 20 YoE, Tokyo, [no title], G3 (generalist 3; there are three levels of generalists, three for management, then more for executives)
Blind should implement a signature feature. That I’d support 100%
Thanks. But, no thanks
